Our Mission: At FableVision, we are advocates of the wonderful classroom. Our mission is to help all learners discover their true potential. We produce CD-ROMs, websites, books and films that inspire and teach. We build partnerships with other creative companies to create educational products that are both innovative and meaningful. This most unique professional development program, like our company, is guided by a book written by our founder, Peter H. Reynolds. The North Star is our mission statement. The North Star uses the metaphor of stars and constellations as a way for children (and grown up children) to navigate their own life-long learning journey. The book also encourages a “thinking journey” that includes helping others follow their own directions. If you haven’t read The North Star, we invite you to do so right here on the web: www.fablevision.com/northstar FableVision believes: Learning is a never ending journey. All of us, children and grown up children, are participants on a voyage of self-discovery. Every one of us is unique and has a right to be inspired in ways appropriate to his/her own abilities, talents, and interests. There are a lot of educational goals we all share. These foundation skills provide building blocks for life long learning. FableVision supports content and activities that strengthen those basic skills, including writing, reading, comprehension, articulation of ideas, research, and problem solving. We also believe that well-educated students and adults are not complete without less "test-able" skills, such as self-determination, guiding principles, appreciation of culture, goal-setting, creativity, community service, and a natural desire to learn and improve. You will find our offerings unique and replete with numerous activities and ideas one can use in class the next day and for many days and years ahead. Each workshop will provide time for exploring, wondering, searching, synthesizing, creating, communicating and assessing. |
