A free four-day event, Storybook World of Wonder is scheduled from Thursday, July 13 through Sunday, July 16th. The celebration will feature activities and entertainment based on the most popular children's books and has been designed as a "perfect family compliment" to the visit of the Tall Ships.

Cover of The North Star bookReynolds' twin brother and Partner at FableVision Studios, Paul explains, "We connected strongly with this event because FableVision is committed to quality storytelling that helps children and grown up children navigate their journeys through life - with the Tall Ships as a rich metaphor and backdrop, it was an easy decision to support this event." Peter Reynolds' book The North Star, an illustrated fable about "navigating one's true potential" was recently named to the new National Educator's Association's Top 100 Books for Children.

Other Storybook World of Wonder activities which promote these themes include Follow James Earl Jones Around the World sponsored by Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages and the FableVision Mini Movie Theatre, which will continuously run FableVision Studios animated short films throughout the weekend. Other event partners helping contribute activities and entertainment include Candlewick Press, Houghton Mifflin, Little, Brown & Company, Simon & Schuster, Hood, Audi, Waldenbooks and the Boston Public Library.

Free and open to the public each day from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., the World of Wonder is an ideal respite after visiting the tall ships berthed at the World Trade Center, Fish Pier and nearby Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. Giant pages from storybooks will be backdrops for photos, and kids will be able to meet and greet their favorite characters. Storytelling, performance stages and activity areas will round out this fun and educational event. The event is expected to attract at least 75,000 during its four days.
