Local Author Peter H. Reynolds' "The North Star" Featured In James Joyce Ramble's Children's Races for Second Year
17th Annual 10K James Joyce Ramble to Be Held On Sunday April 30th
Dedham, MA-- The North Star Children's Ramble is now a critical adjunct to the adult race. "Peter Reynolds' work is all about stepping off the path and believing in your dreams . . . " James Joyce Ramble's Director Martin Hanely explains, "The James Joyce Ramble is dedicated to that kind of freedom to express who you are as an individual at any cost - and that's a message our kids really need to hear especially in the face of peer pressure and mainstream media messages." The children of runners in the adult race, as well as many children whose families are not in the race, participate in the event which offers prizes, raffles, coloring and kite contests, including certificates for all those who run. The North Star Children's Ramble is a free children's race sponsored by the Dedham Youth Commission and offers corresponding distances for various ages up to twelve. More information about the race is available at www.ramble.org. Tom Clinton, Director of the Dedham Youth Commission, notes, "We were overwhelmed by the phenomenal response to last year's race - we're looking for more volunteers to help at the children's races."
