| FableVision's Boston Development Group Continues Expansion New Educational Technology Director Brian Grossman to Focus on Media-Rich eLearning
With both undergraduate and graduate degrees from MIT in Computer Science, Brian has always had one foot in technology and one foot in the classroom. After an early stint at Netscape, Brian’s appetite for educational software development led him to lead several significant projects at Boston PBS affiliate WGBH, Classroom Connect, and Tenth Planet Explorations. As an educator, Brian started as an algebra teacher at San Mateo High School in San Mateo, California, and currently is in his third year of teaching Advanced Interactive Software Development in Boston University's Educational Media and Technology Masters Program. Brian observes, “Understanding technology is important, but understanding how kids are learning today in a connected universe is more critical than ever.” Grossman will be working closely with Douglas Gastich, the head of FableVision's new West Coast Office, to envision, design and build cutting-edge interactive solutions for FableVision's own Product/Publishing Group and the Studio Group. "When I discovered FableVision, I knew I had found my dream company," Grossman shared, addding, "FableVision is a company true to its educational mission, incredibly creative, and a heck of a lot of fun. I couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to work here." Founded by twin brothers Peter and Paul Reynolds, FableVision (www.fablevision.com) is celebrating a decade of using media, storytelling and technology to tell 'stories that matter, stories that move.' Peter H. Reynolds' success as a children's book author/illustrator (NY Times Best-Selling Judy Moody, The Dot, Ish) has also helped position FableVision as an award-winning content provider to global consumer and classroom markets. With its recent launch of a UK Group, FableVision's educational publishing group is growing out its K12 software product offerings (Stationery Studio, BrainCogs, Essay Express), including its first acquisition of Get A Clue in 2005, which added a critical subscription- based software engine to the firm's product line. ###
