Boston's Own "Blue Shoe" Animated Short
Held Over for Second Week in Coolidge Exclusive!
Award-Winning Animated Love Story Between a Blue Shoe & Green Boot Selected as Sole-Mate for Charles Schultz Retrospective
Boston, MA-- Curator David Nugent reports, "We were pleasantly surprised to witness audiences applauding The Blue Shoe," adding "Considering that last week it was showing with Mr. Death - that's an interesting juxtaposition, but it worked and really connected with people in a major way." The screenings of The Blue Shoe will be expanded to include matinees and will show with a special showing of a Charlie Brown film in honor of the late Charles Schultz. FableVision's animated shorts The Blue Shoe and the most recently released Living Forever have now racked up over two dozen awards and festival honors - including most recently an ASIFA-Hollywood Annie nomination, the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, the New York International Children's Film Festival and the SlamDunk/Hollywood Shorts festival at this year's Sundance events - and is even been featured in the National Gallergy of Art in Washington, D.C. beginning in March. Led by Peter Reynolds, FableVision Studios leverages multiple media platforms including animation, books, CD-ROM, and web to create "stories that matter, stories that move" for children, adults and families for museums, publishers and broadcasters. Peter Reynolds is currently writing and illustrating several children's books for Simon & Schuster and Candlewick Press as well as launching two original animated series with Children's Television Workshops/Nickelodeon's new on-line/television network Noggin. Coolidge Shorts screening details are available by calling the Coolidge Corner Theatre (290 Harvard Street/Brookline - http://www.coolidge.org) at 617-734-2500.
