Help
Me "Connect the Dots"!
This holiday season I have launched a very special "Connecting
the Dots" fundraiser to help more visually-impaired children
and adults experience my book THE DOT - via the wonderful
folks at BrailleInk.org.
For only $20 (plus shipping) you can own one of my original
watercolor paintings - to keep or give as a special holiday
gift. Each watercolored dot is signed, dated, and placed
in a preservation sleeve with card backing. 100%
of the funds raised will go toward the cost of printing
this unique braille edition of The Dot from
BrailleInk.org.
As the year ends, I also want to give special thanks to
everyone who has helped us grow the FableVision mission
over the last ten years. With YOUR help - we remain an independent
island and safe harbor for the "stories that matter." I'm
also thankful for one of the most caring dedicated staffs
ever, including my siblings Paul, Jane and Andy for all
their tireless work to move us into our wonderful new space
at the Boston Children's Museum. Here's to FableVision's
next amazing decade - and sharing the journey with you!
Savoring All Good Things,
Peter

Parents'
Choice Foundation's Holiday Ideas List
Dr. Peggy Healy Stearns, childrens' software designer,
shares a very important activity in the Parents' Choice
Foundation December newsletter. Dr. Peggy writes, "When
a gift, a favor, or a visit calls for a special thank you,
nothing says it like a handwritten note. You can hold a note
in your hands and savor the writer’s unique script, the texture
of the envelope, the colorful stationery. And notes, unlike
email and phone calls, often find an honored place on the
refrigerator or are tucked away with treasured souvenirs."
The Parent's Choice website features activity suggestions
for children and families, plus downloads of stationery
(from Stationery Studio!) and writing samples to get you
started. For more information about Stationery Studio,

Uses The North Star Approach To Guide Thoughtful Independent
Learning
School counselor Nancy Stafford and Principal Jo-Ann
Georian are on a North Star journey – but they are not
alone. They are sharing it with an entire elementary school!
Read Nancy’s own story below, including her recent experience
of having Peter H. Reynolds visit Sandown North Elementary
School in Sandown NH. Thanks for sharing, and Follow
Your North Star!
Excerpt:
"Our school is a new school, now in its’ 6th year. Prior
to our opening the building, I came across The
North Star book. I purchased the book and the musical
and have utilized it each year ... I begin my classroom
guidance with all of the classrooms by reading The North
Star, and end the school year by reading it again. We
have incorporated the ideas of the book in to our school
culture.
This past September, we were fortunate to have Peter
H. Reynolds spend a day in our building. He shared his
stories, artwork and vision. The children and staff had
an incredible day with him and it has remained a highlight
of our school year. When he met with each grade he did an
activity with them regarding our STAR QUEST theme. The STAR
stands for Safe, Trustworthy, Always respectful, Responsible.
He drew a picture representing each of the words . .. We
hope to have Peter visit again in the future as this was
truly an inspirational visit for students and staff."
- Nancy Stafford, School Counselor, Sandown North Elementary
School
